- FIFA will have to think hard about who they assign to referee the Brazil matches. No doubt the crowd intimidated the referee in the Brazil-Croatia match and that had a major impact. Those crowds are passionate and into it, and it will take a strong official to resist giving in to the intimidation.
- Croatia should be done better to challenge a jittery Brazil in the first half. There was space to exploit on the wings.
- For this game, Julio Cesar looked very shaky and that may be an issue in later rounds.
- It is going to be very hard to beat Brazil on their own soil.
