How often do we see people or groups of people lose that drive and just “play it safe”? Maybe it is because they have been in a job for a long time, or they achieved success early and cannot replicate it?
When I first read this quote, I thought “I am definitely both of those pretty constantly.” But when I focused on the meaning, the quote really hit home for me (and not just in my stomach). When we are at work, or performing a task, it is hard to maintain our initial burst of enthusiasm or drive. The great ones are the ones that do.
