The U.S. men’s national team suffered a damaging loss this past Friday to Mexico. By losing 2-1 in Columbus, the U.S. not only lost the mythos of impenetrability around Columbus, Ohio but also begin the hexagonal qualifying phase on the back foot.
Tuesday, the team travels to Costa Rica to try and get something from an away match against one of the confederation’s best. It will not be easy, but it will be a good test of how good this team is.
On Friday, I joined my colleague Kartik Krishnaiyer on Feuerstein’s Fire’s post-game show to talk about the loss and where the U.S. goes from here (listen here). On Tuesday, I will be making an appearance on that post-game show to talk about hopefully a positive result (link here).
